What you’ll see
Two cases, ninety minutes
This is your chance to see the models where it matters most — in the clinic, with patients, being reasoned through in real time rather than taught in the abstract.
The success story
Nelly Yockell presents a 27‑year‑old runner with chronic bilateral shin splints that had stopped him doing any sustainable running training. Treated in the models, he recently placed 4th in his last run — 100 km over three days. The discussion covers how his exercises and training were managed, the role of ConnectTherapy™ Self Checks and RESET exercises, and how the treatment differed from traditional management ideas.
The patient case study
Libby Meakin presents a highly motivated but regularly exhausted ER doctor with chronic right hip pain, who also experiences tension into the right lumbar and thoracic region when the hip pain flares. Their response to treatment varies — some sessions bring progress, others feel like a return to square one. Libby’s treatment is based on a Driver Profile of a Primary Driver CoDriver between the Thorax (R 5/4) and the right Lower Extremity (Co knee and foot), and she asks LJ what might explain the varied response: something missing in the Driver Profile, something in the exercise program, or something else.
Your instructor
Dr. Linda-Joy (LJ) Lee
Physiotherapist · Researcher · Founder, LJ Lee Institute for Physiotherapy & Movement
LJ is known internationally for her expertise in the thorax. For more than two decades, her clinical practice and research have focused on this region specifically — the biomechanics, the motor control, the pain science, and the mechanisms connecting it to the rest of the body.
That work produced ConnectTherapy™ and the Thoracic Ring Approach™ — models built to answer the questions that kept coming up in her own clinic, and in the clinics of the physiotherapists she teaches.
Grand Rounds is where you watch her apply them to cases she hasn’t rehearsed — reasoning through another clinician’s patient, out loud.
